Course Planning 6 will focus on chakra alignment as taught by JJ Gormely. We will learn cueing and marma adjustments for the alignment of the specific chakras. We will discuss particular poses that are ideal for teaching the alignment of each chakra.
Chakra alignment here merely means describing what the bones (and sometimes muscles) can do in a particular area of the body (defined by chakra location), for optimal postural benefit, healing from structural issues in, around, or near that area. It does not refer to so-called open/closed, blocked, or the like with regard to chakras.
Pre-Requisite: Courses need to be taken in order: CP1, CP2, CP3, CP4, CP5, then CP6
In these classes, JJ taught students sequencing class plans with course planning guidelines as used in the SCHYS curriculum. This includes appropriate preparatory poses, counter poses, rests, transitions, etc. The Asana Reference Manual (available for purchase) is used in these classes.
CP1, CP2, CP3, CP4, CP5, and CP6 are all available via recording and include handouts.
CP1 - audio only, course planning basics. CP2 - CP6 - are video recordings and continue the course planning guidelines for the protection of students. This methodology of planning a course prepares students for poses and teaches how to use counter poses correctly to bring the spine back to neutral leaving your students feeling safe and happy.
Students may wish to purchase the Asana Reference Manual. Those in SCHYS Training Programs will receive the Asana Reference Manual as part of their tuition.
