This course provides 24 Approved Professional Development credit hours for the IAYT toward renewal of your C-IAYT.
This course is 16 hours of prerecorded videos which include discussion in stress, the autonomic nervous system, the pathogenesis of issues that involve the vagus nerve including ailments such as PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Insomnia, difficulty swallowing, digestive issues, and more. Plus eight hours of prerecorded video classes of Case Studies. You are required to present two cases to JJ Gormley of clients that you worked with where you used yoga therapy for a vagus nerve issue.
JJ Gormley and other faculty will guide students in the following: the anatomy & physiology of the vagus nerve and other cranial nerves, current research on the vagus nerve, and healing suggestions for clients with suspected vagus nerve issues.
Requirements
Vagus Nerve Online Classes 1 - Eight one-hour classes (prerecorded), with a quiz at the end.
Vagus Nerve Online Classes 2 - Eight one-hour classes (prerecorded), with a quiz at the end.
Case Studies Online Class - Eight one-hour classes (prerecorded)
Present to JJ Gormley two case studies of client’s you’ve worked with who have a vagus nerve issue. Presentations should be similar to those you observed in the Case Studies Online Class.
This course is an Approved Professional Development course with the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT). You will receive 24 CEUs toward your C-IAYT renewal.
