This course provides 16 Approved Professional Development credit hours for the IAYT toward renewal of your C-IAYT.
This course is eight hours of prerecorded videos which include discussion of the anatomy and physiology of respiratory system, cardio-pulmonary system, how to safely design a class practice for those with respiratory issues, the pathogenesis of common respiratory issues, current research using yoga as the intervention for respiratory issues, healing suggestions for using yoga for clients with respiratory issues., case studies of clients with respiratory issues. Plus eight hours of prerecorded video classes of Case Studies. You are required to present two cases to JJ Gormley of clients that you worked with where you used yoga therapy for a respiratory issue.
As lead faculty, JJ Gormley will guide students in how to safely design, and teach a class practice for clients with respiratory issues. She will teach anatomy & physiology of many of these ailments/diseases, including the pathogenesis. We will also look at current research using yoga as the intervention, healing suggestions, and case studies of clients with these issues.
Requirements :
Respiratory Issues Online Class - Eight one-hour classes (prerecorded) with a quiz at the end.
Case Studies Online Class - Eight one-hour classes (prerecorded)
Present to JJ Gormley two case studies of client’s you’ve worked with who have a respiratory issue. Presentations should be similar to those you observed in the Case Studies Online Class.
